Broch strike late to win seven goal thriller
Formartine had a good chance after 5 minutes when Cole Anderson fired in a shot from the edge of the box but Andrew Dunbar did well to save. Three minutes later Callum Buchan released Ryan Milne on the right for the home side but his shot across the face of goal went wide.
The Broch took the lead on 16 minutes when Callum Buchan’s corner from the left was thumped home by the head of Scott Murison from six yards. The visitors levelled after 24 minutes when Cole Anderson slotted home a Connor Killoh cross.
Formartine almost scored again three minutes later when a corner from the left was met by Lewis Simpson but the Broch defence cleared. On 34 minutes Scott Martin fired in from outside the area which brought out a good save from Andrew Dunbar. They did take the lead 5 minutes before the break when Connor Killoh rifled the ball home from 20 yards.

Ten minutes into the second half Owen Campbell pulled off a great save to keep the deficit at one goal when he denied Lewis MacKinnon. Two minutes later the Broch drew level when Ryan Strachan was played through on the right and he smashed the ball home from an acute angle via the crossbar.
It was end to end stuff and Owen Campbell was on hand again to thwart Scott Martin tipping his shot round the post. From the resultant corner Lewis Simpson saw his shot blocked and cleared to safety. Midway through the half Zane Laird played the ball through to Ryan Strachan who did well to control the ball before slotting it through the legs of Thomas Mackie and into the net to give the Broch the lead.
With the game still in the balance Formartine had another chance on 82 minutes when Cole Anderson raced clear but Owen Campbell save with his legs. The same player made no mistake five minutes later when he controlled Mitch Argo’s pass and fired home.
With a minute left Zane Laird put the Broch back in front when he drilled the ball home from the edge of the box. With time running out Ryan Strachan almost completed his hat-trick but saw his curling shot tipped round the post by Archie Spence. From the corner Scott Murison’s effort hit the post.
